The versions of Baccarat are many and they vary from French to European to American, but all these have been extracted from the Italian game called as “Baccara”, which in its local language means zero. The origin of Baccara dates back to the Etruscan myth in which a die needs to be tossed by a virgin lady, which had nine sides.
After the die had been tossed, depending on the fallen side, the fate of the lady would be decided. For instance if the outcome was eight, she would become a priest, for seven she would be prohibited from doing anything.
